The easiest way to start is to fit the pieces into the board in any arrangement that works.For your first attempt, don't worry about leaving the correct month and date uncovered—just complete the board and see which challenge you've solved.If you end up leaving two months visible instead, that's perfectly fine—you've still completed Level 0 :)This helps you become familiar with the pieces and understand how they fit together. Once you've done that, solving specific dates becomes much easier.

Keep in mind that not every piece can be placed along the edge of the board—or cover several edge squares at once. In many challenges, you'll need a single piece to cover two, three, or even four edge squares.When solving a challenge, pay special attention to the month squares around the edge. It's usually easier to build outward from them and let the center fall into place afterward.Otherwise, you may end up leaving two months uncovered instead of the correct month and date.

Start building around the month you want to leave visible. Figure out how to cover the surrounding squares while keeping that month uncovered.Don't forget that the neighboring months should be covered.

Don't take apart a completed challenge.The next day, you can simply start moving pieces around from the previous solution, which is often much faster than starting from scratch
